John 4 The Noblemans Son Lesson 2 

 

 

v46

So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum. {nobleman: or, courtier, or, ruler}

 

The nobleman who was an official in Herod's courtyard had travelled a very long distance to see the Lord

v47

When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.

In all these stages the Lord was able to overcome death

The nobleman also ask the Lord to travel 25 miles to heal his son

 

v48

Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.

 

The jews would only accept miracles as proof of Gods power

v49

The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.

 

The nobleman had faith and believed the Lord had power over diseases

v50

Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.

 

He thought it was necessary for the Lord to be present but accepted the Lords word and made his way home

v51

And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.

 

Good news will meet those who truat the Lord

v52

Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.

 

The nobleman remembered the place and time the Lord changed his life. How can anyone forget such an experince.

v53

So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.

 

His testimony brought salvation to His whole house

v54

This is again the second miracle that Jesus did, when he was come out of Judaea into Galilee.

 

 

 

The Sign of power over diseases all these are under His control.
